The B&H Event Space makes its triumphant return, marking the shift from purely online educational programming to a physical location tailored for the photo, video, and audio industry. This new venue is designed to create a nurturing environment for learning and growth.
For over five years, B&H Photo has provided free workshops, cultivating a creative community. Their recent relocation to a newly remodeled area on the first floor of the B&H superstore signifies a fresh chapter in their mission, now perched in a dynamic 800 square-foot space with stunning views of the lively Hudson Yards area.
Riding on the coattails of the success garnered from their YouTube platform, launched in 2022, the Event Space will embrace a hybrid strategy for educational content. This not only accommodates in-person workshops but also allows for the integration of pre-recorded and live-streamed events, broadening their reach to a global audience. Stephanie Gross, the Event Space manager, envisions this initiative to enhance community engagement.
"In the creative world, community represents more than support—it symbolizes motivation and inspiration. Engaging with fellow artists and innovators fosters a setting where ideas flourish and creativity ignites. This Event Space is committed to not just equipping creatives with the tools for success, but also reviving creativity through human connection. The official opening of the new facility will occur in conjunction with a week-long series of events, filled with workshops and on-location photowalks. Notably, the opening week will feature a prominent guest speaker, Ira Block, a renowned National Geographic photographer and a Sony Artisan of Imagery, who will share insights on the role of photography in fostering community.
