A Tail-Wagging Fashion Extravaganza
New York City, the fashion capital, is about to have its paws completely swept by something unprecedented. Barkhouse, the high-end dog daycare in Chelsea, is about to roll out the very first Dog Fashion Week. Four days of intense canine couture initiatives are set to culminate in a showy finale that promises more pomp than even Manhattan’s snobbiest canines could ever wag a tail at.
A New Bark on the Block
Opening less than a year ago, Barkhouse has quickly become the epicenter for the city's discerning dog owners. They’re all about extending the velvet rope treatment not just to two-legged patrons, but to their four-legged darlings as well. With more than 700 members already barking its praises, their upcoming fashion week is set to be a howling success.
Pop-Up Madness: Sept 8–11
Each day leading up to the main event, Barkhouse hosts pop-ups from some top dogs in the pet fashion world. We’re talking rock star brands like Little Beast and By Teddy, alongside Pawelier and 1ER. It’s exclusive, it’s interactive, and let’s face it—these pooches are getting their paws on some on-trend threads while partaking in various activities. Honestly, it’s a dog-eat-tutu world out there.
The Grand Finale: A Doggy Runway Dream
On September 12th, the pièce de résistance hits the green—literally. The 'Dogwalk Fashion Show,' brought forth by Fetch Pet Insurance and Maev, promises a transformative runway covered in lush greenery thanks to the artistic vision of Theresa Rivera. Immersed in a world of canine couture, this 50-foot catwalk—or should we say dogwalk?—is where dog-parent duos will strut their stuff in thoughtfully styled looks by the vintage sensation, Gianna Corvino of The NY Archive.
"New York Fashion Week is one of this city's most iconic cultural moments," stated Gabriella Desposito-Carlson, touting the new bar set for doggie devotion.
- A charity auction benefiting Muddy Paws Rescue

Truly, it’s a bonanza of barky delights that even the snootiest fluff balls won’t be able to ignore!
Bridging Two Worlds
The masterminds behind Barkhouse, Jeffrey Carlson, and Gabriella Desposito-Carlson, had a swoon-worthy goal in mind: to bring the same ostentatious flair to dog apparel that their human counterparts enjoy during New York Fashion Week. And why not? If lapdogs are the new kids, this is more than just barking up the right socialite tree. They’ve made it clear they’re redefining what it looks like to pamper your pup while maintaining a high-gloss fashion quotient.
As we countdown to the runway, these doggone theatrics remind us to keep an eye on the horizon for the next big cultural shakeup. Heck, if this week goes as planned, Barkhouse may just waggle their way into becoming an integral part of the big city's fashion psyche!
