This year, in addition to the diverse competition, three special exhibitions stand out for their unique blend of creativity and thematic depth: Arborialis, Art of the Olympians, and Red Jeans Redemption.
Arborialis: An Immersive Experience
Arborialis is a stunning inflatable luminarium designed by the acclaimed UK-based company, Architects of Air. This whimsical installation is famed for its enchanting designs that combine brilliant colors with fluid architecture and soothing auditory elements, creating an ethereal environment that captivates audiences. The installation examines the symbiotic relationship between humanity and nature, encouraging sustainability and sparking creativity.
Art of the Olympians: Celebrating Athleticism and Art
The Art of the Olympians exhibition features the work of the renowned Olympian artist Roald Bradstock, who is often referred to as the 'Olympic Picasso'. One of the stars of this exhibit is his bold piece titled "LA Rising - Together," a charcoal artwork made up of 2,028 rings. This piece commemorates Los Angeles' resilience as it prepares for the 2028 Summer Olympic Games, inviting visitors to engage by coloring in the rings themselves. Furthermore, it includes a collaborative piece titled "Together," which celebrates a century of winter sports through contributions from high school students.
Red Jeans Redemption: A Reflection of Resilience
Presented by Healing in Arts, Red Jeans Redemption serves as a poignant platform that amplifies the voices of sexual trauma survivors. Visitors are invited to view pairs of red jeans, each adorned with the personal stories of survivors, fostering an atmosphere of reflection and empowerment. This exhibit challenges societal stigma and builds empathy through deep, participatory engagement.
