Update on Artisan Partners Growth Team Portfolio Management
MILWAUKEE — Artisan Partners Asset Management Inc. (NYSE: APAM) has announced an important change within its portfolio management team. Craigh Cepukenas will conclude his portfolio management duties at the end of this year. Although he will continue to play a vital advisory role as a managing director within the Artisan Partners Growth Team, he will step back from making portfolio management decisions starting December 31, 2024.
Effective January 1, 2025, Co-Lead Portfolio Manager Jay Warner will take on the role of sole Lead Portfolio Manager for the Artisan U.S. Small-Cap Growth Strategy. Meanwhile, the other portfolio managers on the Artisan Partners Growth Team—Jim Hamel, Matt Kamm, and Jason White—will maintain their leadership over their respective strategies: Artisan Global Opportunities, U.S. Mid-Cap Growth, and Global Discovery Strategies.
The Growth Team remains dedicated to its collaborative approach, ensuring that its various portfolios are managed in alignment with the established investment philosophy and process that has been in place since the team was formed. This structure is designed to provide clients with a consistent investment strategy across different portfolio types.
Reflecting on this transition, Matt Kamm stated, “Craigh has reached a point in his life and career where it is appropriate to lessen his involvement in daily portfolio management. At the same time, Jay has consistently added immense value for our clients, showcasing the strong leadership and expertise necessary to guide the U.S. Small-Cap Growth portfolio.”
Artisan Partners President Jason Gottlieb remarked, “Since joining the firm in 1995, Craigh has made significant contributions to achieving solid long-term results for our clients. He has also been instrumental in fostering investment talent and exemplifying the Growth Team’s culture. We have complete confidence in Jay’s ability to continue the exceptional work that has characterized the Growth Team for many years.”
