Altor Solutions to Acquire Lifoam Industries
Altor Solutions, a subsidiary of Compass Diversified (NYSE: CODI) and a prominent designer and manufacturer of custom protective and cold-chain packaging solutions for both industrial and life sciences sectors, has announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Lifoam Industries, LLC. Lifoam is known for its manufacturing and distribution of temperature-controlled shipping solutions, and the acquisition comes with an enterprise value of $137 million in cash at closing, excluding working capital and certain other adjustments.
Founded in 1954, Lifoam specializes in creating temperature-controlled packaging products, including thermal shippers and refrigerant gel packs, for a variety of industries. This acquisition will not only enhance Altor’s presence in the cold-chain packaging market but will also diversify its customer base.
Lifoam operates seven manufacturing facilities across the United States and employs advanced engineering capabilities to design and validate its products in certified laboratories. This acquisition is anticipated to significantly boost Altor’s long-term strategy in cold-chain packaging solutions.
