Planned Parenthood to Start Registering Voters in ‘Non-Partisan’ Campaign
Abortion business Planned Parenthood is announcing it will begin registering voters at its clinic locations, on college campuses, and online as part of a new campaign which the Huffington Post says is “non-partisan.”
The campaign titled, “My Vote, My Voice,” is making an effort to “get disenfranchised populations more involved in the political process,” the HuffPo report states. It continues:
Volunteers across 45 states will set up “action” tables outside of Planned Parenthood health centers and other locations in the community to sign people up to vote, educate them about voter ID laws in their states, and then remind them two weeks before the November election to vote.
“If we can’t all participate in our government, we all get cheated,” said Planned Parenthood spokeswoman Anna Keene. “We’re launching the ‘My Vote, My Voice’ campaign to help ensure that every voice is heard and every vote is counted in communities across the country. No matter what your political beliefs are, if you don’t or can’t vote, then you can’t elect officials who will keep your best interests in mind.”
The campaign’s launch is reportedly linked to the 51st anniversary of the Voting Rights Act of 1965 that banned racial discrimination in voting.
“Our purpose is to engage historically disenfranchised communities,” said Erin Carhart, Planned Parenthood’s manager of youth organizing.
Ironically, Planned Parenthood was founded by eugenicist Margaret Sanger, who began the Negro Project in 1939 and worked to bring birth control to blacks in an effort to reduce their population. Joining with elite and well-known African-Americans Mary McLeod Bethune, W.E.B. DuBois, and Rev. Adam Clayton Powell, Sr., the Negro Project was sold as a solution to poverty and high birth rates among the black community. At the same time Sanger promoted her theory of “eliminating the unfit,” she also condemned charitable organizations that she believed were elevating the very population that needed to be weeded out.
Janice Ponds — a member of the Coalition of African-American Pastors (CAAP) Women’s Ministry — told Breitbart News that Sanger “once stated that black people are a part of a spawning class who should have never been born; and are human weeds to be exterminated.”
“Now not only is the #1 killer of black Americans abortion, but Planned Parenthood is now selling the body parts of these precious black babies for monetary gain to buy what one official stated as ‘wanting her Lamborghini,’” Ponds asserts. “How can this not be viewed as a human atrocity?”
When asked in an interview at Turning Point Friends about the relationship between race and abortion in America, NFL star — now with the Baltimore Ravens — Benjamin Watson responded, “I do know that blacks kind of represent a large portion of the abortions, and I do know that honestly the whole idea with Planned Parenthood and Sanger in the past was to exterminate blacks, and it’s kind of ironic that it’s working.”
Watson, the author of a book titled Under Our Skin, continued:
We (as minorities) support candidates, and overwhelmingly support the idea of having Planned Parenthood and the like, and yet, that is why she created it. We are buying it hook, line, and sinker, like it’s a great thing. It’s just amazing to me and abortion saddens me period, but it seems to be something that is really pushed on minorities and provided to minorities especially as something that they should do. In the public, it seems to be painted that when minorities get pregnant they need to get abortions, especially when it comes to teen pregnancy. It’s like when black girls are pregnant, it’s like a statistic, but when white girls get pregnant, they get a TV show. My book talks about race, and how all these things are kind of forced into our brains. When we think about abortion, what’s the picture we get in our minds? It’s usually a minority, and those images are reinforced in culture. We sit here and talk about advancing the black agenda, whatever that means, we talk about our interests, and what’s important to us – like having political power and advancement and all those things – and then we are turning around and we are killing our children. And we are buying the lie that it’s our personal decision to make.
Planned Parenthood has been supporting Hillary Clinton since the primary. It plans to spend $20 million to elect her as the next president. The abortion business’s CEO Cecile Richards was a key speaker at the Democrat National Convention in Philadelphia, during which she continued the common narrative of her industry that abortion is “women’s healthcare.”
Clinton has said unborn babies have no constitutional rights and that she hopes as president to repeal the Hyde Amendment, a longstanding provision that prohibits federal funding of abortions. Clinton says that by repealing the Hyde Amendment, more minority women will be able to have abortions through the Medicaid program.
As The Federalist noted in 2014, Clinton sang the praises of Sanger in 2009.
“I admire Margaret Sanger enormously,” Clinton said at a Planned Parenthood event. “Her courage, her tenacity, her vision.”
“When I think about what [Sanger] did all those years ago in Brooklyn,” she added. “I am really in awe of her. And there are a lot of lessons we that can learn from her life and the cause she launched and fought for and sacrificed so greatly.”
