Yes, the article does a good job of summarizing the industry. It is also important to note that each week some law shifts and/or changes across the national landscape. Additionally, there are many newly proposed legal initiatives pushing for change with varying pro/con/middle stances. There are also each of the individual to track that are supporting and strategizing for each campaign. It is a tremendous amount of information to analyze.
BG Medical was a strong supporter of a recent mandatory testing initiative for the city of Los Angeles. It included many great provisions. The company, as well as myself, contributed greatly to the campaign. However, politically we were opposed by a labor union that pushed through a less beneficial initiative. Work continues today to repeal and/or improve the proposition that was voted in. This is the natural ebb and flow of the industry. Our contributions to the campaign earned us several strong political alliances.
It is inevitable that testing will become mandatory in all states. This will be a great boon for the company. The time is coming.
2016 will be a huge year for the industry. Presidential voting years bring out the "young vote", which votes favorably for cannabis and hemp regulation. CA will very likely legalize recreationally as well. These initiatives and fund raisers are already in progress.
