The AM9C1 is built upon Samsung’s advanced 5-nanometer controller technology and features a single-level cell (SLC) Namespace option that enables faster access to substantial data sets. Users can switch from the standard triple-level cell (TLC) state to SLC mode, which heightens read and write speeds even further, reaching up to 4,700MB/s and 1,400MB/s respectively, while ensuring the reliability associated with SLC SSDs.
Mass Production Plans and Storage Capacities
Currently, the 256GB AM9C1 is being sampled by crucial partners and is poised for mass production at the end of the year. In response to growing demands for high-capacity automotive SSDs, Samsung plans to provide a range of storage options from 128GB to 2 terabytes (TB), with the 2TB variant set to become the industry’s highest capacity in this product category, slated to commence mass production early next year.

Samsung’s latest auto SSD has undergone rigorous board-level tests, conforming to the automotive semiconductor quality standard AEC-Q100 Grade 2. This guarantees consistent performance across an extensive temperature spectrum of -40°C to 105°C, essential for automotive applications.
