Refined Energy Welcomes Ken Wheatley to Board, Updates Property Deal
Refined Energy Corp. Welcomes Ken Wheatley to the Board
Refined Energy Corp. (CSE: RUU | OTC: RRUUF | FRA: CWA0) is thrilled to announce a pivotal addition to its Board of Directors. Veteran uranium explorer Ken Wheatley joins the team, bringing a wealth of experience that spans over four decades.
Ken Wheatley is recognized as a Professional Geoscientist registered with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan. His impressive career has seen him actively involved in uranium exploration across Canada, specifically in areas known for their significant mining activity. Since embarking on his career in 1980, Wheatley has contributed to the discovery of several notable uranium deposits.
A Wealth of Experience in Uranium Exploration
Throughout his career, Mr. Wheatley has played key roles in crucial discoveries including:
- Cluff Lake: Dominique and South Dominique Janine (Amok Ltd.)
- McClean Lake: Sue C, D, and E deposits (Minatco)
- Key Lake: BV and P-Patch occurrences (Uranerz Exploration and Mining Ltd.)
- Midwest A (Orano), where he led the exploration team responsible for its discovery and delineation
In his recent position as Vice President of Exploration for Forum Energy Metals Corp., he discovered multiple uranium showings at Northwest Athabasca, further diversifying his already impressive portfolio. His expertise also expands into copper exploration at Janice Lake and nickel-platinum-palladium exploration at Love Lake. He obtained his H.B.Sc. from Laurentian University in 1980 and an M.Sc. from the University of Saskatchewan in 1985.
Mr. Wheatley's Vision for Refined Energy Corp.
Expressing his enthusiasm about joining Refined, Wheatley stated, “The Company has assembled an interesting land package in Saskatchewan, and I look forward to contributing to its efforts as it advances exploration for new uranium discoveries.” His engagement promises to propel the organization toward further success.
Enhanced Capabilities for the Dufferin Project
Mark Field, another key member of the Refined Energy team, highlighted the significant value Wheatley brings: “Ken has already delivered tremendous insight on our Dufferin Project. Bringing him onto the Board is a natural next step, and his depth of knowledge in Saskatchewan’s uranium districts will be a major catalyst for the Company’s momentum moving forward.”
Significant Amendments to the Simard Property Option Agreement
In addition to the Board appointment, Refined Energy Corp. announces a significant amendment to its mineral property option agreement with Geomap Exploration Inc. This updated agreement, known as the Fourth Amending Agreement, alters the terms of the original agreement that dated back December 20, 2022. More amendments were made on November 14, 2023, February 28, 2024, and April 24, 2025.
This new agreement adjusts the earlier deal and defers particular financial obligations tied to payments, share issuance, and exploration expenditures. It has also revised the number of mining claims from 96 to 61, which cover approximately 3,539 hectares of land in the Lac Simard region of Quebec.
Considerations for Future Exploration Ventures
As part of this agreement, Refined Energy has committed to issuing 50,000 shares to Geomap, contingent upon approval from the Canadian Securities Exchange (CSE). All shares issued in connection with this amendment will observe a four-month hold period as per Canadian securities law regulations.
